Elgin and Summcrville Men Take Out
Permit for Water.
Dunne the quarter ending June 30
1916, State Engineer John H. Lewis,
issued 137 permits for the appropria
tion of water, including six for the
construction of reservoirs. According
im ini'so ipernius it is proposed to ir
rigate 7,(il6 acres of. land, store 1,440
acre feet of water and develop power
at a number of small individual power
plants for private use.
Two permits were issued in Union
County, which are as follows:

and Aila Ingot, daughter of a wealthy
tradesman. Garrick first sees the girl
sitting in a box while he is playing,
but despite numerous attempts is un
able to learn her identity. The girl's
father, in an nttcmpt to cure her of
her infatuation for him and to induce
her to marry Squire Richard Chivy,
the man of his choice, requests Gar
rick to leave England. From this
point the plot becomes interesting.
Furnum's portrayal of Gnrrick is
capably conceived, and his perform
nnce. throughout especially in the
scene in which he disillusions Ada. is
finely done. Winifred Kingston is a
charming Adi.
