A Good Law Just now when every farmer and stockman is becoming moro and more interested in the production of pure bred livestock ana the better market demands for animals of a superior type, it is worthy of comment that at the last session of the legislative as. sembly of this state a law was passed making it unlawful for any person, persons or corporations to turn upon or allow to run upon the open range in the counties east of the Cascade Mountains any bull other than a pure bred bull of a recognized beef breed. The law also provides that it shall be unlawful for any person, persons or i corporations to turn upon the open! range in said counties any female j breeding cattle without first procur-i ing and turning with said female! breeding cattle one pure-bred bull of recognized beef cattle for every fifty female or fraction thereof. A heavy penalty is provided for the violation of any of the provisions of the law. A pure-bred bull is the progeny of a registered sire and a registered dam.
