Rav Norval is excavating for a foundation preparatory to the erection of a modern home on his ranch near Imbler. The fencing for the school ground has arrived and will be erected at once, a wovem wire fence in front and a board fence at the rear. ; - Frank Conklin, -wno was almost re covered from a light form of mumps, began work too ''soon and has had a serious backset. Judging from appearances, we suspect a goodly portion of the time was oc cupied in exchanging the "latest one" with old friends. . Mattie Holmes spent the week end with friends in Islnnd City. Doris Childers and wife have moved into town and are occupying the Lute Strlngham home. : Jeff Bell and wife have moved into the Bennet property. - Rev. Maxey, the gospel dispenser of Alicel, was exchanging greetings with former co-workers here Monday. He has a plan to attempt changing league ball to Saturday, by building up the half-holiday plan. Farmers and fruit men are feeling more optimistic since the recent cold spell dispensed the much-needed moist ure without the dreaded frost. Wheat is jointed and orchards are a mass of white, in just the condition that freez ing or frost would have caused in calculable damage. R. A.
