Kansas Don't Look Good to Him.
J. W. Reynolds, an old timer, pio
neer and Indian fighter of Eastern
Oregon, returned from Central Kansas
,Monday and is at the J. A. Thronson
home. Mr. Reynolds says, no more
Kansas for him as the winter has been
a very severe one and even now is
cold. He says North Powder is good
enough for him." He is 81 years of
age, but is hale and hearty, Which no
doubt is mostly- dut to the f .ict of
spending a great portion of the last
50 years in the extremely healthful
climate of the North Powder Valley
country. .. . :'
Promises to be a Good Mine.
J.. Thronson started Tuesday morn
ing with a four horse load of supplies
for-his mines on East Eagle. The
family will move about May 1.
These mines lie just across the sum
mit from the celebrated Cornucopia
property with a similar formation, and
apparently as good value.
. Mr. Thronson and associates expect
to put a ten stamp mill at work on
this property of several claims with
in sixty days and work all the men
possible. ,. . . "
