daisies and ferns, a second ceremony
was performed, Richard Hammer 'Of
ficiating. The mock wedding was fol
lowed by an evening of "five hun
dred" and when the cards were laid
aside, a delicious supper was served.

balance of the program was made
up of tableaux,' readings, drills, etc.

duction, which was creditably ren
dered by the young people. A very
noteworthy incident in , connection
with the drama, . "Nebuchadneuer'a
Dream," was the painting by Cal-
of the dream as described in Daniel

By request . this painting will be
on exhibition at the Y. M. C. A. the
coming week.

The M. I. A. dance last night at
the Amusement hall, riven in honor
of the victorious basketball team,
was well attended and voted a com
plete success by all,

Mr. and Mrs. Phil Robbins, former
ly of La Grande, when Mr. Robbins
was connected with the postoffice
force, were recipients of a pleasant
surprise at their home in Santa Bar
bara recently. " Mrs. Williams is the
daughter of Mrs. Sarah Williams,' of
South La Grande. Says a Santa Bar
bara paper in this connection:
Mr. and Mrs. Philip Robbins ' of
West Figueroa street, were given a
pleasant- surprise Monday - evening
when a group of friends and neigh
bors, who were aware that Monday,
March 1, was the sixth anniversary
of their marriage. The opening meas
ures of a wedding'march were played
upon their front porch was the first
intimation they had of the surprise
in store for. them.
