August Rush in May Seen at River side Yesterday Afternoon. Hundreds of people one thousand, one observer estimates utilized the city park for recreation and rest yes terday. . From early morning until evening when chilly winds came down the river, hundreds of children romp ed the sward and played on the para phernalia for juvenile entertainment. Many families took lunches to the park and stayed all day, and in every respect the crowds resembled those that congregate there in the heat of the mid-summer season. The green sward is particularly clean this year an effort to keep it so is being made. That a tremend ous rush to pick up the most desir able camping places for chautaqua week will be on when the selections are due, is indicated from the inter est taken in park facilities this early.
