Jesse Crum of Elgin, was in the city last night on business. He returned today. Ernest Fulton, of Joseph, and F. L Vergere of Enterprise, were register ed at the Foley hotel last night. Luvia Spray, of Union, arrived in the city this morning to be the guest of her friend, Miss Vera Wells of this city. : "' Tom Tucker, of Palmer camp, who has been on the sick list in the city for a number of days, returned to the camp this morning. Elsworth Ellis, who has a class in vocal music at Elgin, left for that city this morning. He will be back tonight. .Dr. I. A. Allen, the chlropactor of Wallowa, left for that place after vis iting with his brother, Dr. J.. T. Allen, of this city. ' ' Dr. Kirby of Elgin, returned to that city this morning after undergoing surgical work at the local hospital for an injury to the knee. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Miller and baby Helen who have made La Grande their home for some time, left this morning for Umatilla where they will live in the future. Mrs. Eakins of La Grande, left to day for Freewater, Oregon, where she will visit her father, Thomas Bunnell, uncle of Miss Elizabeth Bunnell, a teacher of the Greenwood school. Mrs. A. Rice came down from Enter prise to meet her mother Mrs. L. M. Harper, who arrived from Missoula, Mont. They left today for Enterprise, where Mrs. Harper will spend the summer with her daughter. Mrs. Reece and son Eddie of Oregon City, passed through the county seat this morning en route to Elgin where they will make their home in the fu ture. Mrs. Emma Miller and daughters Josephine, Gladys and son Everet, of Applegate, Oregon, passed through La Grande today en route to Joseph, where they will make their home in the future.
