' -.'XX I herewith submit to you the en closed statistical report of the work of the La Grande Public Library for the year ending December lt, 1913. This is the first full, yearly report of the library; it having been opened to the public July 15th, 1912, under tne ame cnarge oi miss w- l. tjoweii, a trained librarian amd graduate of Pratt Institute Library school. On June 14th, 1913, Miss Cowell resigned, to be married ,and since July 1st,' 1913 the library has been in charge - of Jacqueline Noel, also a graduate of P.att Institute Library school. The library will soon enter into a new period of its existence in the handsome building provided for it through the generosity of Mr. An drew Carnegie. In its own building, it hopes to serve the people of La Grande even better than it has been able to in the past. ' , Respectfully submitted, v ' JAEQUELINE NOEL. No va cancies in this he use, generally a waiting list. Investigation will show that considering the steady income very little personal attention is re quired. X' Some thrifty wife can soon own a property that will augment the family income just about double the amount the average thrifty husband is able to produce. A good small five or six room dwelling will be considered as part payment. The balance can be ar ranged on reasonable terms. Call at office and see the photograph of the property and if you are a hustler and really want something good you will be interested in knowing the details. Geo. H.
