(Special) The market for poultry is showing considerable strength along Front atree and prices are generally higher. Sales of hens are being made generally at 15c a pound for good sizes, although some are quoting a fraction below this In a few instances as high as 15 He ha been obtained for some extra select of ferings, but this price is by no means general at the moment- i vouniry nogs Are Weaker. There is a weaker feeling generally in the trade for country killed hogs in the Froilt street market and prices are fractionally lower. Strong efforts are being made by butchers to force the price down to 10c a pound for beet ' ouerings. Veals Are Not so Firm. v"; v While prices are showing but little change, there is a .weaker feeling in the dressed calf trade aTong Front street generally today. Some stocks were carried over from yesterday. While in a limited way as high as 14 He has been obtained the general market stands no higher than. 14c. Eggs Showing Stronger, ;,k , Market for iresh eggs is firmer and some of those who have been quoting several cents a dozen under extreme figures, are revising their quotations and are now lc to 2c under the top, There is no difficulty in obtaining top quotations. Grape Market Is Firmer. The season for all varieties of grapes is fast ending. Receipts from local points and from the south are very small and prices are firmer. To kays are quoted generally at $1.40 a crate of four baskets. . New Market for Fruits. Announcement has been made by the A.
