Grape Grow Scarce and Will Soon
Be Gone. .
Grapes will not be on the local mar
ket for many days more. Malagas are
about gone and tokays will not last
much longer than a week or more.
But in the place of these table deli
cacies fresh California figs in various
sized packages and dates from Arabia
will take the place of the fruits that
will disappear for the season. The
quality of grape fruit on the market
is the best seen in many a day and
is selling at 15 cents straight.
The egg market all along the coast
has gone up and the local market is
affected accordingly. Packed esrsrs
are quoted at 40 cents..
1 he tone in the apple market has in
creased for the better owing to the
pressure that has been brought to
bear on the price by the Hood River j
people. The price is up 25 cents a box
which will be good news to all farm
ers and fruit growers of the valley.
