Sari Francisco, Aug.' 19. Indignant
that a man who shed no blood is sen
tenced to die on the scaffold, anti
capital punishment societies through
out California today put into motion
a big public sentiment campaign to
save- James W. Finley from the' Ga'-
set for October 24. ' '
The law under which Finley was

state to hang Jacob Oppenheimer, the
i "Tiger of Folsom prison," who af'

the attempted prison ireak in 1905 for
which Finley was sentenced to die.
