Baker's share of the state tax for this year as received - this afternoon oy tele gram to the county court is $27,277.75. The present assessment is made on a taxable value of i,519,ooo. assessed to Baker county. The state tax for last year was $77,199 and for the year before was approximately $35,000,' both of which years : were materially larger tnan this year. The present tax shows a decrease of nearly $50,000 from that of last year or a decrease of nearly two-thirds.
