Ladd Canyon, June 13. (Special)
The quarterly conference and picnic
ot the Methodist Sunday school wor
ker which was supposed to have been
held at the mouth of Ladd Canyon, In
the grove, by William Banton's house
last Tuesday, has been postponed un
til Tuesday, June 25th, on account of
Dr. Haley's absence one of the chief
speakers. This will be the fourth
quarterly conference of the Island
City circuit, which comprises Ladd
Canyon, Hllgard and Island City. John
Larm will deliver the opening ad
dress and Dr. J. D. Glllilan will speak
besides Dr. Haley, district superin
tendent. A good program has also
been provided. Anyone who wishes Is
cordially welcome to bring their din
ner and Join the picnickers. We are
already promised a crowd from Island
City and La Grande, the .nearest
tjjyns.
Nearly everyone In Ladd Canyon at
tended the stock show at Union last
week, many attending two days. All
who went rcp'.rt their time well spent
