It' took its form this time in a banquet. How ever, let -it be clearly understood that the banquet was not prepared by the men. The good ladies of Island City and vicinity responded nobly to the call of the men with wonderful re sults..;. Island ' City claims a popu lation of less than, two hundred, In cluding school children., ' Of the men and --women over; one hundred sat down to that splendid repast. It was Indeed a most gratifying sight, , over 60 men seated In one body. -The affair took place in the Brotherhood's new club rooms. The program follows: :.Toastniaster-E. E. Two weeks 'ago the Brotherhood leased the second floor of the old M. and M. building for club room pur poses. The larger ; of the .two front rooms is to' be fitted up aB a library, the smaller as a committee room.' The I large center room will hereafter be i the scene of light gymnastic efforts, ' Already the wheels are turning which will mean within a few weeks boxing gloves and- other necessary equip ment. The library will soon be well ' supplied with good books. No longer will it be necessary for the men to spend their idle hours on the street. Perhaps even La Grande's library-will rot, draw them away. ; -.
