members of the .Masonic, fraternity
from all parts of the state are In Rich
mond for the annual session of the
Virginia grand lodge. The meeting

sent by J. B. Stump of Monmouth,
weighs 1,085 pounds, and is not only
of phenomenial size, but of excellent
conformation as well. The average
draft colt throughout the country
would be at leaBt 300 pounds lighter,
and not as well made while thia aver
age cayuse does not weigh 1,085 when

Hearing on Commutation Rates.
Washington, D. . C-, - Feb. .15 The
troublesome question of commutation
rates between New York city and 'sub
urban points In New Jersey and else
where, which has been a cause for
contention between the railroad and
the commuters for a long time, came
up for hearing on appeal today fore
the Interstate Commerce Commission.
The original decision In the case was
unfavorable to the railroads.
