There are a few peonle however who have formed the erronious opinion that it Is some sort of a children's entertainment, but most people realize that it Is one of the most beautiful and popular oper as ever written and that it has been produced by more companies, both profeslonal and , amateur than any other English opera. It was with this opera that the most celebrated opera company of the Uni ted States, the "Bostonlans," made X 1 their first success and It continued to i ; ce tneir best attraction until that nthp.r hen n Hf nl mum "rjKi- tt j i " " vjjub AklUlU flUUU . 7 1 m a measure wok us place. Some of the most pleasing features of any opera Is the male chorus work and in this "Pinafore" excels most o" the light operas as nearly half of tho first act is performed by the men and they make a fine introduction to one of the leading characters, Captain Corcoran. This role Is being ably filled by Mr. C. P. Ferrin and as he is wel known throughout this entire locality to be one of the best singers of the northwest all will be glad to again hvae the opportunity of hearing him in such an Important role as "Captain of the Pinafore." The celebrated "Moon Song" Is ona of the numbers of this opera and In this solo Mr. Ferrin is especially good. He is at all times ably assisted by Mrs. O. E. Sllverthorne, who takes the part of little "Buttercup." The opera will be given both nights complete, there being no cuts made as Is often done by directors of amateurs. The opening of. the new high school auditorium should be the occasion of bringing out everybody interested tn the work of beautifying and furnish ing the new high school and with bo worthy an object and so good a pro duction of a favorite opera.
