Choicest Cuts of Well Selected Beef can always be had from us q Portland, Ore., Dec 19 (Special) That President Taft's latest message win come in for "a grilling at the hands of the wool growers of Amer ica at the annual convention sched uled for Portland January 4, 5 6 and 7 is the frank prediction of sheep raisers. This message holds out little hope to the wool growers and they regard it as settled that he regards the wool and woolens schedule as in defensible, for he has said so on a number of occasions. It Is felt that so long as President Taft feela that a majority of the peo ple want the Bchedule revised, whether the Industry will' be wrecked or not, he will stand by his original program for the reopening of the schedule and some changes In the duties on wool and woolens, although he has stated on numerous occasions, it- is said,' - that ha 13 not after ithe woolgrowers, but rather the manufac turers. "" . v. ' ' ' ' '" ' ' ' ' . Growers are naturally hoping that congress will not dig Into the tariff a chance to Teport. The fear is gen eral, however, that revision of Sched ule K is inevitable and this is caus ing a depressed feeling among eheepr men everywhere. The tariff talk that will be heard will be the big feature of the coming convention. Strong speakers have been secured to dls cubb the situation and advise a way out Edward Moir, preseldent of the Carded Woolens Manufacturers' As sociation, will speak on "Schedule K, from the standpoint of the Card ed Woolen Manufacturers." ' "The Payne-Aldrlch Tariff and Wool Importer" will be the topic presented by C. II. Brown, Washington repre sentatlve of the - National Wool Growers' Association. "Tariff on Wool and WooIenB" Is the subject to be presented by Theo dore Justice of Philadelphia, and Fred II. Blume of Sheridan, Wyo., will speak on "Protection for Wool and Woolens." There will be, an ex tended discussion on wool tariff mat ters at all the sessions of the new convention. Other subjects to be dis cussed are: "Schedule K," by Peter G. Johnson Blackfoot, Idaho. ; , "What Sheepumen Can Accomplish by United Effort," by C, B. Stewart, Salt Lake City. p. has m mm LAMBDA PHI ALPHA WILL COX.
