District Meeting Will be Held at the
' Yheat Tovm in December.
Pendleton is to be the ecene of a
district convention of the, Knights 6f
Pythias on December 17 says the
East Oregonlan. ,The preliminary ar
rangements were' made at the regular
meeting of the local lodge last even
ing and the details will be completed
by a special committee appointed fpr
that purpose.
! Alva A. Shumway of Milton, deputy
district grand chancellor for the or
!er, was present at the meeting last
evening and laid his plans before the
lodge. He was then appointed chair
man of the committee to complete
arrangements. The other members of
the committee are J. W. Maloney
and James Gwlnn.v
This district of the order Includes
all of the lodges fo Umatilla county
and practically the entire county mem
bership of the order will attend the
convention. These events ' were fort
merly held annually and were very
popular and successful affairs. During
the past few . years, howeved, none
have been held. . '
' The Knights of Pythias is one of
the strongest orders in the county and
their conventions are about the most
largely attended.
