Registration books close 4 September 13. Q Last day to file nominating petition Is September 8th. Friday during the noon hour La Grande voters will be given another opportunity to register for the com ing primaries. County Clerk Ed Wright has promised to have the books at the rooms In the rear of the United States National bank at that hour and all who are not now regis tered, should ston on their wav tn lunch and attend to this important matter. The noon hour, however, will not h the only time for the voters to regis ter down town, for the books will be held there all afternon until 6 o'clock m the evening, and from 7 until 9 again the same evening. On Saturday again the books will be open at the same place from 8 a. m., until 1 p, m., and from 2 p. m. un til 6 p. m., and from 7 until 9 d. m. Saturday. Registration closes on September 13, at 5 . o'clock, and every man who is not registered, will positively be denied the right to vote at the pri maries. . Petitions in September SUi. It Is but a week now until all can didates must have their petitions filed with the county clerk or with the secretary of state as the case may be. While it is possible to run as an in dependent candidate without being on the ticket as a party candidate, it is presumed that every man who as;ire3 to the candidacy for any office, will go through the primary requirements and file his petition before Sentem- ber 8 at 5 o'clock p. m.
