She was a' one time Western Union agent here. John Carmlchael, better known to the pioneers of La Grande as "Club Foot Joe," passed through the city last evening on his way to his home In Boise. Mr. Carmlchael drove the first regular stage that entered La Grande, and Is known to man of , the pioneers of the entire state.
