La Grande's team wan disbanded and re-organized In a week; Joseph has exploded, and out of the explosion at Joseph, La Grande has grabbed some of the most prom Islng pieces of the debris, including Manion, the Mt Angel coach who has been playing with Joseph the last few weeks. Harry Walters, formerly of Cove, but now out of a Job at Joseph, Is also with the noted backstop and Pidcock, the Joseph captain is here to play with La Grande next Sunday when Enterprise comes here for a ser ies of games. Manion worked wonders with the Joseph team and his work behind the bat is a good class. It is not known what disposition will be made of the inter-country league. Wallowa may be taken 4n. Mclnnis, Shankes, and probably several others of the home guard, in eluding Wallace Childers, are out of the line-up The first two have left the city and Horton, the nifty Becond baseman has likely played his last game here. Bridge Superintendent Campbell and a crew of six men left for Minam to day, expecting to be gone about Itro weeks. The bridge Is one of the larg est In the county and needs attention !! n!8 a,on.' the approaches are to be made while the general repairs are going on, and people living in the vicinity of Un'on and also in Wallowa county, will be highly delighted to have the repars made. POCKET PICKED BY TWIG. Watch Found Hanging to Bough Year After Lois. A pickpocket has been discovered me wooas near Rlvernead. N. I., but was not arrested. It was a twig. in December, 1008. L. M. Raynor of Rlverhead was in the woods, and unknown to him at the time a twig picked bis pocket, neatly extracting his watch. He did not know of his loss until he reached borne, and he did not know what had become of the watch. Walking In the wood recently. Raynor saw his watch depending from a twig about the level of bis bead. He be lieved he must have bent the branch down while-passing and that bis pock et was picked at that time.
