Dill are in the city to day from Enterprise representing the Wallowa county seat at the La Fol lette lecture. ' The Edwards Comedy Company, under the management of C. E. Strong well known to the theater goers here, will open at the Scenic next Monday presenting after pieces, farces and dramatic sketches. Austin, Oct. 2C The Texas district, court tn-lay issued a decree ousting four branches of the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey from doing business in the state of Texas. The companies are the Security Oil Com pany; Navarre - Refining Company, and the Union THank and Standard 'Oil Compacts of Indian?. All four companies are perpetually enjoined from doing business in the state of Texas. The court ordered all of their property to be sold and in ad dition ordered that their property be placed 1 nthe handd of receivers prior to a public sale. Itedured Railway Bates. Raligh, N .C., Oct. 26. A 2 1-2 cent fare was inaugurated today on the Norfolk & Southern In this state in stead of the 3 cent fare heretofore prevaling.
