Arnold, Secretary &Treasurer. o o u s o 3 4 :ready to assemble assembled Safety and Economy Damper Co 801-808 CHAMBEBOF COMMEBCE Dear Sir: Mr. Arthur W. Arnold Is going to La Grande tonight to endeavor to place some stock in a patent damper. I, personally, have taken quite a block of the stock. I consider it one of the best patents on the market and be lieve that it will be a money maker. I herewith enclose you a circular which gives all the points of the patent. I would like to see my friends in La Grande interested in the company, as the returns no doubt will be large from the invention. Tours very truly, F. S. STANLEY. The Safety and Economy Damper Company organized under the laws of the state of Oregon, with a capital stock of $100,000, fully paid and non-assessable, par value $1.00 per share, owns and controls the inventions of A. W. Arnold in Automatic Damper and l ire Governors, which are among the very import ant inventions of modern times, t The Arnold Damper, as shown by the cuts, is a simple, automatic device which forces the fire to control uif nri in Rn doin? it is a fuel saver of from 25 per cent to 50 per cent, a fire insurance and a wonderful convenience. , 4 . , It is so made that it may be adjusted to permit of any degree of heat and that degree of heat m a uni form manner regardless of the class of fuel. It is a control of the fire at all times, night and day, even in your absence, and is beyond human power in its sensativeness to"the heat. The sum and substance of our proposition is, we have a device that should ba used in every heating and cooking stove and every furnace, large and small, in this country, and the advantages received from it are so many that no man can afford to be without it, for it is a saving of money and insurance and is a convenience. While the field for its use in stoves and furnaces is very large, the field for its use in lar ger stacks is very large, and, taken together, the field for our business is wonderful in its extent and magnitude. It has every advantage as an advertising proposition, since it shows what it is and what it will do from a cut and can be delivered by mail, and when received it may be installed by a person, whether or not ex perienced. The Arnold Damper has been demonstrated and personally inspected by some of the best authoritiesin the United States, including some of the United S tates Engineers at Washington, D. C. All have com-plimented it very highly and consider its value bey ond estimation, for it is a blessing to humanity. ' . OUR OFFER TO INVESTORS IS: We are now placing on the market a limited amount of stock at par. The great advantage in our offer is we are going to pay enormous dividends, since our capitalization is so very small, and the stock is bound togo to many tlme9 its par value in a short time. The business in the City of Portland will pay a good dividend on this capital, and when the fieldthroughout this country is considered, it is plainly seen why we can payenormous dividends. Our plan of action is simply to raise sufficient money by the sale of stock on which to start the manufacturing and sale of goods in this and all partsof the country. Our business will gradually grow into a large advertising and mailing business, for it is adapted as such from every point t.f view. Po not miss the chance to buy some of the stock we now offer to you, for the rights now offered on a basis of $100,000 W worth many millions of dollars when our business 13 developed. Not only will our business pay large profits to us, but our goods win be a blessing to the people of ,4 he country. The officers of this company ar9 business men of wide experience and will bear the t-lobet' Investigations for reliability and sincerity of pur-pose. s The Sum Total of Human Happiness Is attained by the man who select wife anl adaptable for his entire f tlons approximates about the keen such conditions jo be found in the you. The car was the Lob Angeles Limited, Union Pacific, and la similar to the steel mail cars which pass through every day. Another steel chair car ot the same pattern as went through yesterday, was on No. 7 this morning, Indicating that while the rush is on, several of that sort will be drafted into service. They are invariably at the head of the train Immediately behind the baggage tars and in case of a wreck wlll.be a protection to the passengers. The cars are very similar to the wooden coach, but so much more free from danger that the difference has been an Incentive fdr several lines to put in large orders for them. It is predicted that In the near future all overland trains will be made up of the steel cars. . M. B. ( A. Meets every Thursday evening at I O. O. F. hall. Visiting members al ways welcome.
