Before the state water supply commission, In the Newark city hall, a public hearing was held today on Newark's applica tion to acquire and develop the Wan aque river watershed as a source of additional water supply for the city. It is asserted that fifty years from now the people of Newark "will be going around withtheir tongues hang ing out. begging for water," if some conservation plan Is not adopted in time to prevent a contingency.
