District Agricultural society, wishes to announce that the county fair will be held this year at La Grande, beginning October 4th, and lasting one week. - The sew catalogue will be out now la a short time, the cause ot the de lay so far has been due to the effort to get the Wallowa- county people to Join us and combine the two fairs. The new catalogue will be practic ally the same as the old one, but with this exception, many of the premiums hare been raised and new features added, and also a large special list ot premiums will be offered by the business men of La Grande. La Grande's Methodist circles. school centers and athletic elements will be surprised, no doubt, to lean of the coming marriage of Rev. Jacob Finger, for several years pastor of the Baker" City church, to Miss Lewis. The reverend has a large list of friends in La Grande. The Baker City Herald, speaks thusly: The news came from Blackfoot, Idaho, where Rev. Finger has been attending conference and was rather unexpected to most of his friend 4 in this city. The parson has been a faithful benedict and evldent'y tlid not think it necessary to take the public into confidence.
