Whyte has tendered his resignation as priest of the local Catholic church, and his successor. Father Alden of Ontario, is expected to arrive tonight, to take charge of the local parish. The immediate cause for Father Whyte's resignation and temporary retirement from the church field, is due to his failing health. He Is now at Hot Lake in a critical condition due to a collapse of his nervous system, and as soon as his health will per mit, he will take his departure for California in an effort to rusticate In the milder climes. Father Whyte com pleted his fifth successive year as priest here, in April, and during that time he has molded friends untold in and out of the Catholic church. Those who know the father casually or in timately will affrm that few men command the education and have the same broadness of mind on any sub ject, religious or otherwise.
