Sec. imam act LVVHL LVdl YESTERDAY La Grande got a hit yesterday in the, fastest game of the season, played with Huntington, and in which Lr Grande was defeated 3 to 0 Regardless "f fau tut. Huntingon bunch.tr its hits in one inning and La Grande errored five times, all transpiring in the same inning, letting in two scores of the three, it was a fine exhibition and ore that kept the crowd in good humor until the last inning when it was discovered the local b could not find Spooner for a hit, and thereby loBt the game. Nelson, the local twirler, found the Huntington thrower for the only hit of the game, ' and backed up by splendid support in infield and outfield, the Huntington throw or' was able to defeat the locals His variety was large and he stirred hings up with good mixing. Wh1! Nelson was better by far than the preceding Sunday he was still a shade o'ft color yesterday, especially when he whs, touched up in the fifth. But his work was good nevertheless. On the La Grande team there was consistent playing, Proe again walk ing off with the laurels of the day, though Salee pulled down a dandy pop up and Zip made a sensational catch. The presence of the band withs its liberal quota of music helped to make the affair a pleasant one -and things took on a color of Class D ball all right. The first score came in the fourth when Wheeler got transportation, then simply purloined everything from then on home. In the fifth session Ko- wall sinvler, tut was thrown out by "Mlrt-va tt KernjMl. Stsrchpr singled and was advanced one station by Spooner's binele to rls-ht w; registered at third on a hit by Machji, and when Machl stole second, Chll ders threw high and while the ball was being recovered, Starcher had of course come in and Machl was safe at home when Childers dropped the re layed ball from deep center. ' Thus the only scores of the day were made. Score by Inning: , Huntington. - .. .. 0 0 0 1 2 0 0 0 03 .'. ... 0 0 0 0 3 1 0 0 04 ..,..11020000 04 au Ideal Cough Medicine.
