(To the Editor of the "Observer.") We had a meeting at Alice! Satur day lith and organized a union. - We will soon have a strong union there. There was another meeting Thurs day night April 22. P. A. McDonald is the president, John Splakhart is vice president, and W. J. Carl Is Sec Treasurer, 1 expected to be at the meeting Thursday night, but bad to come home on business, and can't get back in time. I will be In the county in a few days, and hope to be able to stay until we get a County Union organized. The people can then see more of the workings. I met Mr. Hale of Umatilla Co., as I came home. He said they were doing fine work there, taking in new members evoryj meeting. He said they were saving hundreds of dollars to the fanners through buying and selling. They are going to have a county picnic some time In May. I hope to get your coun ty ready for the annual May picnic, as we are having them all over the Northwest. We will have a county picnic at Waitsburg on May 20. It will take in Walla' Walla and Co lumbia Co's. The Walla Walla local has 223 members and are taking tnem in pverv meet us;. The farmers Hi this state think that the time will soon come when they will be able to dictate to the - buyers what prices should be paid for grain, hay, fruit, vegetables, Btotk, wool and all other products. I want the people of I nion County to gtt to thinking and be ready to join the union when I get back there. I will be there soon and the work must be done up in a hurry for there are calls from many otiir places. 1 want everybody to attend our meetings and learn what is being done for the uplifting of the farmer.
