The ladlta of the Neighborhood club
8 pent a very interesting n3 profitable
fternoon at their club rooms on
Sixth street yesterday, with Mrs. Geo.
Palmer as leader. ' After an excellent
'summary" by Mrs. Palmer, touching
on all the Important phases of Elmer
son's life aa a man and writer, came a
paper by Mrs. Curpy on 4'Emerson's
Poetry, which proved very beautifully
his great love for nature from which
he drew his grandest Inspirations. At
this time Mrs. Hanna contributed
some very helpful thoughts on "Per
sonal Toucnes, . showing how that a
coming Into closer touch with the
man's life, his striking personality and
marked characteristics might aid In
a clearer comprehension of his works.
Then, as a fitting climax, Mrs. Ivan-
hoe gave a. . stirring "Appreciation,"
which was Intensely exhillratlng and
inspiring, Infusing into-the heads of
the listeners a keener desire to know
papers came , the open die-
Shanghaied 1000-foot film.
