The attention of the court was taken jp this morning with the case where n Rube Chandler is charged with itealing 20 pounds of lard from the 13. V. Oliver cellar on the evening of Saturday, February 6. The following ury was Impaneled: J. J. Peck, H. W. Stoner, H. C. Vinacke, Jack Hills, John Honnett, W. P. Noble, Al Gogd, W. A. Stowell and H. F. Charles Cuchrun for the defense, in his remarks to the Jury, stated that the defense expected to prove that the de fendant, Rube Chandler, could not have been connected with the theft, as he would be able to produce wit nesses who would testify to having seen and conversed with Hie defend ant at the time when the indictment claims the robbery took place.
