The formal transfer of the properly of the Baker Light & Power company was made today to the Fremont Power com pany by Al Welch, general manager of the Northwest Corporation, which owned the local plant. The transfer was complete with the exception of a few minor details. The rirlee wn not made public, but It Is understood to be a large sum. This Is the largest deal that has been made In eastern Oregon for some time, and gives the Fremont people about 65 inilea of high tension line, and about twice thut amount of dis tributing line. The Fremont people now furnish the Red Boy. Columbia and Dan mines with power and also have contracts to furnish Haines, La Grande, Hot Lake and Union with Juice. Frank Harmon will be the local rep resentative of the Fremont people and will took after the business here. J. These peo ple came highly recommended from Spokane and fully lived tip to their i-ecommendation. Their line of work is new to La Grande vaudeville and Is in the class usually presented at the opera house by the large musical comedy companies. Special mention must also be made of the work of Miss Alberta Hadley, whose character singing with elaborate and appropriate wardrobe and light effects Is a decided novelty and a pleasing feature. The pictures are of the usual high order. Chas. Dickens' "Old Curiosity Shop," and "Love vs. Law," both dramas, arc of great interest. Dr. IV. D.
