About the first of the year I noticed that several of my best horses were not thriving as they should and their decline was marked. I 'phoned for Hr. Charlton, the well known veterinary from La O-ande. but owing to Illness he was unable to come, and then I called hii other veterinary, who claims to have a diploma from the Ohio Httae uni versity. He arrived, looked my horses over, one of which v as dead at the time, an.l frankly told me he did not know v. hat the ailment was. Never theless, he wrote out a prescription. mind you. not knowing what ailed them. I gave the horses the medicine prescribed, not knowing what else to do. My horses continued to grow worse anJ I once more called Or. Charlton. When he arrived he found two of my horses dead, three on the barn floor that died the next night, mil others, whb-h he pronounced be yond recovery. Within a veiy few moments Ir.
