Herman Clark, president of the La Grande Epworth league and Miss Ora Cates, district president, gave inter esting talks at our devotional service Sunday night. Morton Kiddle, wife and daughter, returned from a visit to Portland Mon day morning. Prof. W. L, Shurts la-detained from the high school on account of measles. The Union Sunday school 1b prepar ing a program to be given in the school Christmas eve. A large concourse of friends attend ed the funeral of W. G. Peach, an old pioneer of this valley In the Island church Wednesday, at 11 o'clock. The relatives and friends have the sympa thy of the entire community.
