Al Helsner and Perry Robinson left for Wallowa this morning, where they will be employed In the construction To dlviJo the Passenger service on the North Bank road went Into effect today. The fol- la Walla explains many of th details connected with the latest Hill devel opment In this section of the United States: i Walla Walla. Nov. 2I.-FIve brand new passenger coaches constituting the duyllght train between Walla Walla and Portland, to be inaugurated over the Northern Pacific line this morning, arrived in Walla Walla this morning at 6:30 o'clock, on the trial trip of the new run. The train" Includes an ob servation car, a diner, buffet, express and baggage cars. . : Kennewick and Pasco, as well a all towns between there and Walla Wal la, are looking forward to the inaugur ation Of the new train with much Joy ful anticipation, as it puts them in much hearer communication with both this city and Portland than they hav ever been In the past. What the hew train service mean to Walla Walla and the surrounding country can hardly be overestimated. It will mean more people, more busi ness, more homes and an altogether more prosperous city.' Passengers will now be enabled to leave Walla Walln In the morning and reach' Portland early In the evening, without the ne cesslty of changing cars or having to wait at any point for connection- with other trains. ' ; Although the time schedule for the departure and arrival of th new train has not yet been received at the local N. P. offices, It Is thought likely the train leaving Walla Walln at B:30 In the morning will arrive in Portland about 6:30 in the afternoon, and the one leaving the latter city Will start about 9:30 in the morning and arrive In Walla Walla about 9:15 in the eve nlng. ' - - -- TEACHERS M BAKER La Granae is practically void ot School teachers today. Last night and this morning's trains took away a ma jority of tlty and county teachvrs who will attend the annual meeting of Eastern Oregon teachers.
