I A new firm has been formed In this city and one business place -will be aarK after tonight The Sherwood Electric theater, the pioneer playhouse of the city, will give its last set of Der formances this evening, when the three usuar programs will be presented After the last performance, the "cur tain" will ring down and B. 'M. Sher wood leaves the picture film business for the field of real estate He has a good program and he will present it with the care and skill that has characterized his work during his stay in La Grande. His many Datrons are grieved to see him leave the show business, but, as he states It, condi tions are now such In La Grande th v. BWtttgnt and exclusive moving pic ture business has been overshadowed by attempts at the vaudeville and spe cial attractions, until it became neces sary for him to follow the example of his competitors. This he feels he could not do with any degree of profit, and rather than conduct a business that was mediocre and not Inclusive of as many special features as those given by his competitors, he leaves the business entirely on the strength of his firm conviction that the city will not patronize profitably three vaude ville and special feature houses. He leaves the business with regret, and he has formed many friends In his line of work during a year's stay In La Grande, because of his constant at tempt and success in presenting clean, attractive and Interesting moving pic tures. "I leave a good patronaire and hope that 1 will see my old friends In my new business," said Mr. 'Sherwood this morning. "I wish to publicly express my appreciation of the patron age given me here and only wish that conditions were such that I could re main In the business longer. Joins Logan Firm.
