The distin guished honor of pulling the special train provided for Julius Kruttschnltt, the vice-president and general man ager of all the Haniman lines, on his tour of the system In eastern Oregon, has fallen to the' ' part of Engineer Peter Tholsen, the oldest main line en gineer on the mountain division of the O. R. & N. Mr. Thelsen arrived in this pity last night from La Grande, having been summoned here for. the . purpose of P'-"!rj Krottschnltt special over the Pilot Rock branch and from nere to Umatilla. Mr. Thelsen pulled the special from Umatilla here on Mr. Kruttschnltt's outgoing trip to Spo kane. Mr. "rtielsen Is the oldest main line engineer on the mountain division and Is now only outranked' In point of service on this division by O. W. (Dad) Moon, the aged veteran of the Pilot Rock bnjnch, who Is now a fa miliar figure lh this city.- However, Engineer Moon has not run on the main line for many years, having been assigned to the Elgin run before coming here to take the Pilot Rock branch run, which Is the pre ferred run of the mountain division. John S. Hodglns, referee In bankruptcy In Union county. The North Powder mercantile firm has been In business for the past two years, but Its collec tions have run behind. Brown, aged about 14 years, was riding In a spring wagon with several of his companions, a 22-callber revolver that he was car rying In his pants pocket, exploded accidentally and shot the boy In the fleshy portion of the leg. The acci dent happened In front of the home of Fred , Warner',' who ran to the boy's asslxtance and succeeded In getting to the hospital, where he Is now confined to his bed. The boy bled freely, but It Is thought no serious Injury was done him. Baker City Herald. Stole Mrs. Buckley's Watch. G. E. Bromley, a young colored man who was formerly porter on the pri vate car of M. J. Buckley, general su perintendent of the Haniman lines In Oregon, pleaded guilty In the munici pal court today to a charge of vagran cy brought against him by Detectives Coleman and Price, flays the Oregon Dally Journal.
