Yesterday's Bull Scores. Portland, 3; Los Angeles, 1. -San Francisco, 1; Oakland, 0. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO LEAVE YOUR WATCH A WEEK FOR HEA- COCK TO FIX IT RIGHT. Oregon and re Baker City Ignored. A poster announcing the Short Line's August outing duced round trip rates from Salt Lake City to points as far west as La Grande has come to the notice of the Democrat. The poster gives the rate from Salt Lake City and return to all points along- the O. 8. L., Including Hunting ton and La Grande, with the excep tion that Baker City is omitted. Why this? Only the railway officials can answer positively, but to the public It looks very much like discrimination. This Instance Is not the only one. The same thing has occurred at various times. It might be well for the Business Men's association to look into this matter and If not ' satisfactorily d Justed perhaps a little discrimination on the part of the shippers against the O. S. L. might bring the railroad to terms. To leave Baker City off the list of points advertised is certainly unjust, and the Democrat would like to know the reason for such discrimination Will the O. 8. L. management give us some enlightenment on the subjoct? Baker City. Democrat Seattle's Water Pipe. Belllngham, Aug. 14.
