The first to leave were 8hortstop Houston and Catcher Fournler, both popular players of the team before It dis banded. La Grande had an aggregation that has called for much comment from other points In the Pacific northwest and as soon as the league broke up practically every one of them had been signed elsewhere. Captain Al Lodoll leaves tomorrow for Portland, from where he goes to Vancouver of the Trl-Clty league. Pitcher BUI Cot teman Is going to the Frakes team of the same league. Pitcher Fuchell and Third Baseman Wallace Chllders have signed up with Wallace, Idaho, and leave soon for their team club. Four nler may play with Vancouver If his health permits, otherwise he goes to BLUE MOUNTAIN HOUSE L A. Livingston Prop. He has several proposi tions under consideration. 1 La Grande haa a. tmnch of ball tossers to be proud of, and the clean winning of the pennant Is due to the fact that throughout the season there has been a constancy In the ltne-up that was far more noticeable than In any other league. Every player of the La Grande team will make good In any club of the class In which they have played thus far, and next year will see some of them advanced a peg or two. The score stood 8 to 2 In favor of La Grande until the first of the ninth, when Baker made three runs.. M1iiti mnA n. "?h !tc good ball. While eight errors for La Grande and three for Baker tells the tale. McGlnnls umpired and was sim ply awful on balls and strikes. He also failed to call two balks made by Gregg. The Baker City rooters cer "talnly showed the right spirit for base ball and deserve great credit for com ing In such a crowd. - Tne Baker City band played a num ber of pieces at the park, which were greatly appreciated by the crowd, while "How Dry I Am" made the hit of the day. To look at the crowd at the game yesterday made one think what a shame La Grande and Baker could not finish out the season when so much enthusiasm was shown. The La Grande boys were a nice. clean bunch of players and the fans hate to see them leave. The Score.
