A matter well north mentioning is the fact that Mesdames Sarah Drluk water and Sarllda Cornegys of Burns, made the trip of more than 300 miles alone, half of the distance by stage, and consumed three days of . time. Other members of the family desire to express their appreciation for their presence and assistance In this re union, and hope that they may, be present many times In the future; Saturday was visitors' day, at which time they were prepared to enjoy vis- Its from their many friends. In spite of the rstn and mud, about ivo guests were present during the day. Weather conditions forced them to hold their meetings In the house. The principal feature of the program was the an nual address, delivered by Fred A. Edwards' of Mayvllle, Gilliam county. This young orator has enshrined hlm e!f In the hearts of the entire family. as well as in those of the friends pres ent. . His earnest ."address, the evi dences of historic research, and schol arly rendition, were features that cap tured the attention of the audience. On Sunday, religious services were held, conducted by Rev. W. H. Bleak- .ney of Pendleton. Ills sermon was Inspiring and was thoroughly enjoyed by all, This sixth annual reunion closed on Monday, June 22, end the members ire already planning their return trip. As 'they go to their several homes they will carry with, them that feeling of affection toward one , another, we hope, that inspired them to make the pilgrimage to this place of family re union. In passing It might be mentioned thst, with the exception of the annual meeting of the Kelly clan near Port land, which Is about the same strength as the Rlnehart clan, this la the only large annual family gathering held In the northwest, and probably the only one on the Pacific slope.
