The funeral over the remains of the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. .a stringnam, whose death . was chronicled In yesterday's Observer, was -held this morning at the Central Church of Christ, Rev. O. The bishop la returning to his home In Baker City, after a short trip to Free- water, where he wa arranging the preliminaries for the erection of the new Catholic church at, that place. Myrtle Gates died at the Grande Ronde hospital last evening at mid night, as a result of ravages made on her young body by appendicitis. She was brought to La Grande on Monday night, but the operation could not be performed In time to prevent the re sults of a ruptured appendix. For several days she hovered between life and death, finally going under at midnight last night. The remains have been taken to Union, where the funeral will be held from the M. E. church on Friday af ternoon, Rev. W. W. Deal officiating. Myrtle Gates, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 8. O.
