Finding a bottle In the Jail Avery had broken It and with the sharp edge succeeded In cutting his throat He severed both the Jugular vein and the wldnplpe. Bhortly after the find ing of the body Coroner Folsom was notified of the tragedy, and he will go to Athena, though it Is doubtful if any Inquest will be held. The musical part of the program will be one of the features for there will be several selections by the la dles' octet, besides the usual quota of high school songs and yells.' This contest Is quite Interesting to Baker City, for La Orande and Pendleton have lost to their opponents and Ba ker is the only large school still In the race In this district ' Baker City has a strong team and the whole school has been helping them In securing data on the ques tlon. William Hermsen, Frank lie- Culloch and Roy Barton will uphold the honors of Baker City and will be opposed by three girls, Gertrude Sto ker, Ruth Sclbird and Madeline Hill of Union.
