The Pendleton Tribune, In Its Issue of Tuesday, commenting upon the re vival services that are being conduct ed there under Evangelist Hauden schield, who will be In La Grande in Aprlt, says: The five churches of Pendleton en gaged In the union meetings are Just beginning to realize the results of this kind of work, the meeting now going on In this city have been held less than three weeks and yet the results have been greater many times over than anything else that has ever been known In the history of the city, largely a result of this union spirit which now seems to pervade these churches, and all will undoubtedly be blessed more thn In any single meeting ility hare held. Sunday was a great day In this work. At tha morning service the Catholics' Buy Property. The Roman Catholic church of Ore gon has purchased 12 lota In Port land upon which stands the North Pa cific sanatorium, at 19th and Gllson streets, one of the finest pieces of property In the city. The purchase price waa $(0,000, but because Dr. R. C. Coffey, who held a lease and an option on the property with still five years to run, will be paid $12,600. Just what Is the Inten tion of the church to do with the property Is not known, but It Is be lieved that it will become the site of a costly new cathedral. The property was formerly ownci. by Levi White, who up to the time o! his death was one of Portland's bun-1 Iness men. He bought it for a home In 1886, but for the past 12 years It has been used as a sanatorium and has been conducted by Dr. Coffey. The block is one of the show placets of the city and Is virtually a park set out In handsome trees, shrubs and 'lowers. Five years ago Dr. Coffey obtained from the White heirs an op tion on the property thut ran for five yeurs with a purchase price clause of $60,000. Dr. Coffey was not anxious to dispose of his option because hl.s sanatorium was well known and at first he was Inclined to reject the of fer of the church. Portland Journal. ADMINISTRATOR'S NOTICE.
