"Pendleton Commercial association demands that Pendleton be named as headquarters of the eastern Oregon federal district upon Indisputable merits of geographical location, best Interests of entire district and volume of business. "At a mass meeting of citizens and business men the demand of Pendle ton Commercial association that the headquarters of the eastern Oregon federal district be located in this city Is emphatically endorsed. An exhibit of nearly 100 pounds of quartz studded with gold, created quite a sensation In Greenhorn camp a day or so ago. The ore was brought Into camp by a Mr. Clark, who has charge of the J. W. Fleegel mine near the well known Psyche property. In running a cross-cut the ledge was cut five feet and no wall struck. Ore from the ledge was simply lousy with gold and Its extent Is not yet known.
