MURPHY I Headquarter for Holiday Goods. .11 ilija BODY BACKED VITO PAIN No other disease causes such wide-spread suffer ng as Rheumatism. It re a nerve racking torture, and so thoroughly dots it dominate the system then it becomes entrenched in the blood, that its victims are usually com frlete slaves to pain. Rheumatism is due to an excess of uric acid in tht blood brought on by stomach troubles, weak kidnevs, indigestion, and 8 sluggish condition of the system. The natural refuse of the body, instead of passing off through the ordinary channels of waste, is left to sour and ferment in the system because of these irregularities, forming uric acid which is absorbed into the blood, and Rheumatism gets a foothold. As the blood circulates through the body it deposits the acrid, irritating sub Stances with which it is saturated, into the different muscles, nerves, tissues and bodes. Sharp, biting pains commence, the flesh becomes feverish, swollen and tender, the muscles and joints throb and jerk, and the body is literally racked with pain. Plasters, blisters, liniments, etc., can never cure the disease; they relieve the pain, per haps, temporarily, but do not reach the trouble, which is in the blood. S. S. S. is the proper treatment for Rheumatism. It goes down and attacks the disease at its head, and A. E. Eaton is over from Colon to day with buswras oefore the circuit court. - - . It Is reported by Hudson Maxim, the Inventor of smokelees powder, that he has devised a torpedo boat that will travel' 60 miles an hour. His secret Is In a new motor power; mo tolte, he calls It. This new power will be used to propel the torpedo as well as the torpedo boat. The Invention will be put at the disposal of the United States government, and It la said to be the most destructive means of naval warfare possessed by any na tion. The rate of speed of the pres ent Whitehead torpedo Is 35 miles an hour. Not only will the speed of the motoite torpedo be more than a mile a minute, but the range will be twice the distance covered by the present torpedoes driven by compressed air. The secret of motoite Is a delicate blend of nltro-plyrerlne, guncotton. one other substance, not disclosed, and the application of a new system of Jet propulsion, the same principle on which automobiles are run. Mr. Maxim started out seeking to Invent a torpedo that would surpass the speed of the slow Whitehead torpedo. Hu not only did that, but discovered A motive power so tremendous that It Is expected to revolutionize submarine warfare and may evert, later, send trnns-Atlantle liners across the seas fter than the fastest express trains move on land.
