Commencing with yesterday morning filings have been coming in by mall nd through personal appearances, but out of 13 filings yesterday only six were accepted. Ten more mall filings were rejected by the local of ficials. Tho desert lands subject to entry- Is included in four townships,' and the only reason for rejection is that filings were made on land not within the allotted districts. A similar remonstrance waa made last year and some concessions were granted them by Mr. Schmltz. Not satisfied with the arrangement they took the matter to the head forester's office In Washington. D. C but from there the matter was referred to Mr. Schmltz and they were re fused their requests. Although Mr. Schmltz' made the al lotments as equal and just for all on possible he practically agreed yester Jay to grant some changes In the reg ulations made "at flrrt.
