ment irrigation project are lively, but
successful filings are less spirited.
Commencing with yesterday morning
filings have been coming in by mall
nd through personal appearances,
but out of 13 filings yesterday only
six were accepted. Ten more mall
filings were rejected by the local of
ficials.
Tho desert lands subject to entry-

the only reason for rejection is that
filings were made on land not within
the allotted districts. All applicants
ire from Hermiston, where the land
is located.
