A. C. Mrs. Laura Nash, a former resident of La Grande, but now of Portland, expects to leave about the 18th of the month for an extended trip through Honolulu. Her many friends In La Grande wish her a pleasant trip. United States Senator Fulton and Congressman W. R. Ellis will pass through the city this evening en route to Washington to resume their offi cial duties, after returning to Oregon during the holiday recess of congress to register. Dr. M. K. Hall returned from Hll gard today, where he was called to hold an Inquest over the body of the late Henry Rudolph, who was found dead In his bed. The coroner's find ing was that he died In his sleep of heart failure. . Guy Mitchell, Gussle Hutchinson, Eleanor Beacher, Emma Roupe and James Halgarth, all from Joseph, passed through the city Saturday eve ning en route to Weston, where they are students at the State Normal school. George Sandburn of Boulder, Mont., Is in the city today, and Is registered at the Sommer house. Mr. Sandburn was a stage driver in this valley ba fore the railroad came through and can see a great many changes rlnr his time hero. The Midland Jubilee Singers arrived In tlie city yesterday and went on to Wallowa today, where they will put on several concerts. They will return here Thursday and give their concert for the benefit of the La Grande pub lic schools. Miss Clark Is a native of this city and has hosts of friends who wish her well,, Mr. Rlggs lived here for short time, and made many friends.
