TO S.50 GREAT MEETINGS IN ELGIN Editors Obrerver: Believing that many will be interested and that Cod's Kingdom will be advanced by the report, I tell a f e v things about the five weeks ofpecial work in the Chris tian Church 'of Elein. A series of r. eetin. s in wh:ch seventy tnree united with the congregrtion, sixty five turning to God confessing Christ and being baptised is certain'yof enough im portance to have a somewhat full report. Members of the Elgin congregation had been praying earnestly for a good meet ing, the regular Sunday and mid week services had been well attended and faith ful men and women had been striving to live the gospel. ii . , nonce a nne oana was ready tor a blessing. The meeting was marked by deep hu manity, seriousness and prayerfullness up on the part of many. The awful condition oF souls living in sin and going into eternity without God and without hope, became a great burd en upon Christians. Hence people were willing not only to invi e sinners to the meetings but to urge tham to yield to the will of Chrnt. One of the obstacles to soul savings is the ind ffarence of profess ed Christians as to the ruined condition of those who are not in harmony with God's will. 1 Freached Christ as God gave me strength I never realized more fully my own inability and Gad's ability. As self was small and forgotten, Jasus was lifted up and people gladly acknowledged Him. Of the additions forty-two are men and bovs and thirty-one women snd girls. Brotner and sister Willisare he'd in high estiem in E!g n. They are earnest work ers, tirctner wiius is now wit:i us in a mseting- With equal trjst in God and consecration to the wjrk of soul saving we shall see a great work in La Grande.
