Notwithstanding strikes, scarcity of labor, the output hat increased by no less than 11.4 per cent Monta-a easily heads the list with 560. 000,000 pounds. Arizona being a good second with 287.000.000, Michigan fol lows with 221,288,000, then comet Utah and California. The year's output totals 1,021 000.000 pounds as compared with 913,643.065 for 1905. The Mexi can production this year amount to 160,- 000,000 and the Canadian 60.000,000. Prof. Abbey state that Germany ha twice the tonagt of the United States. - Russia and France each have 40.000,000 more than America while America's consumption is placed at 35,000,000 which ie more than one-third of the world' consumption. In Virgin a and Texas, j notwithstanding increases all round in wages, it is estimated that not over sixty per cent, rf the mills are running at their full capacity. All the maufacturers have orders for goods more that they can exe cute and in some mills cobwebs and dust are inevidence owing to the lack of labor.
