increased by no less than 11.4 per cent

caused great surprise and being much
commented on. Prof. Abbey state that
Germany ha twice the tonagt of the
United States. - Russia and France each
have 40.000,000 more than America
while America's consumption is placed at
35,000,000 which ie more than one-third
of the world' consumption.

southern states owing to the great scarc

full capacity. All the maufacturers have
orders for goods more that they can exe
cute and in some mills cobwebs and dust
are inevidence owing to the lack of labor.
